Free snacks?! I want a happy hour with free snacks! and I’m not talking peanuts…
Actually, I went to a happy hour with a free (delicious) snack. 50 Plate in Portland Oregon ( http://www.picksomewhere.com/Restaurant/236506/50-Plates-Restaurant ) has the most delicious savory herbed popcorn, it has a dill, garlic, parmesan concoction on it.  Delicious!! (yes, favorite word)

Time when you go to the bar and drinks are half off. Time when most cheap people get f***ed up.
Cheap?! ok…maybe a little. But only when it comes to saving money on overpriced food and spirits.

Situation when you wake up 1 hour before alarm, and realize that you can sleep that period. Oh, it’s AM, I have 1 more hour… happy hour…. zzzzzzz!
Hmmm… not really sure what to say about this one, it is a happy happy hour, though it feels like it only last for like 30 seconds!

Welcome,

So, I’ve always enjoyed reading, whether it be books, magazines, or blogs from favorite websites. I’ve never blogged myself, so this venture into the world of blogging should be interesting and hopefully enjoyable for me, and also for you!  The bulk of my blogs will be obviously about food…mainly happy hours I find and whether they are a hit, or a miss. But, no doubt there will be aspects of my life sprinkled in, things I’m excited about, like a great hockey game or a particularly enjoyable run.  So, here we go!

 

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t enjoy a good happy hour… I, for one, love a great happy hour, but sometimes they can be hard to find. Some places take just a buck or two off their regular menu items, others have really cheap prices with itsy bitsy portions. It’s all about finding a restaurant with a nice happy medium…decent portions with low prices.

Last week, the girls and I went to our old HH standby…McCormick & Schmick. You really can’t go wrong with M&S, always delicious food and drink. I started out with a raspberry martini, Jessi went with and a yummy concoction called an orange creamsicle, and Caitlin went with a glass of white wine. You save a little money on a hand full of drinks off a special bar menu, but the real saving is with the HH food menu. $2.95 for a 1/2 lb. hamburger and french fries?! yes.  There were 5 of us this week and we all had a nice buzz and full bellies with a bar tab totaling $90.00.

Love it.
